Money isn’t Everything

February 9, 2010 · Posted in Law Of Attraction, Minimalism, Personal Development, Wealth, success · Comment

It’s the only thing! All kidding aside, money not being everything is very true and something that I have to remind myself of from time to time when I’m pursuing my goals. I have a few friends who have almost no money and seem to be almost content with not at least making a solid attempt to make more of it. Even on the surface when it seems like they could benefit from more money and they even act as if they would like to do something to get more, it’s quite obvious why they aren’t. It’s because they don’t WANT to. My friends are quite content where they are at and they are happy with how simple their lives are. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that either.

If you are at a point in your life and you have all the money in the world, or you have next to nothing but you are content with whatever you have then you shouldn’t be focusing on gaining more income. Really in the end it’s just a lot more that you can’t take with you when you leave this world. As long as your income is sustainable then you should focus on growth in the other two areas of your life. Your relationships and your health could benefit quite a bit due to the fact that you have the wealth side of your life handled. Put that focus and energy into them and see how quickly your life improves.

On the other hand if you are like me, you want more wealth and a lot of it! I am still tinkering with my finances. Recently trying to cut the fat where necessary and minimize unnecessary bills. I ask myself where certain products or services that I am using in my life have a diminishing point of returns on value for the amount of money I am continuing to spend on them. Also I am focusing on writing more and creating more value on this website and my other projects so that I can gain more value in the form of income long term from them. I am going to school so that I have skills I will immediately be able to transfer over to my current career, but that will also serve me as far as being able to get a job any time I need. I would also have more of a skill set if I chose to free lance, not to mention knowing computers much better will help me in my internet marketing endeavors.

I choose to pursue money because I know more money will allow me to do more in my life in the long run. Think about what you could do with more money. You will be able to buy more cool techno toys which give you a slight competitive edge over those who don’t use or aren’t exposed to the newest technology. You could travel more, meet more people, and ultimately learn more. Money is one of the best tools you can have for growth. Keep perspective when you are going after money in your life though. America is the land of excess. Realize that there a lot of people with a heck of a lot less than you probably currently have.

You don’t need a ton of money. Just enough to get you to the next checkpoint in your journey. Work on getting that much and sustaining it and you will find that your life is as complete and fulfilling as if you won the lottery. The cool part is that it will be even more fulfilling because you have the luxury and experience of the journey. Once you learn the powerful skill of creating value and trading it in exchange for money you will be able to do it for the rest of your life and you will only get better each time you do it.

They All Laughed

January 28, 2010 · Posted in Law Of Attraction, Mindsets, perseverance · Comment

Other than the above being an awesome song by the Charlie Biddle Trio, it is also an illustrator of a key component of successful people. Just take a couple minutes and listen to the lyrics of the whole song carefully.

Notice how every one of those historical names has one thing in common: they all have irrational expectations for themselves, no matter what other people may think. The world is run by people with extraordinary, unrealistic, and irrational expectations. Without lofty goals, none of the successes that we see again and again today would be possible. This comes back to knowing your outcome and taking whatever steps and making whatever adjustments are necessary to achieve it.

Don’t be afraid to set goals that other people may laugh at or consider unachievable. It only seems that way to them because they can’t do it themselves. You may very well get the last laugh in the end, and if you stick with it you most certainly will.

The Biggest Movie Star in The World

This video was sent to me recently. It shows pretty much a highlight reel of Will Smith’s best quotes and the way he lives his life. I admire the guy immensely and his drive is something I hope to emulate in my own life, as would anybody hoping to achieve their goals.

Enjoy the video and you might want to take notes. It’s that GOOD.

Do Something Nice

January 8, 2010 · Posted in Law Of Attraction, Mindsets, Relationships · Comment

Give somebody a quick lift home if they don’t have a ride. Help your landlady with her garbage. Give a sincere compliment to somebody who looks like they could use it. Not only will they really appreciate it, but you are putting out an energy that will come back to you tenfold at some point. I’m not saying that it’s necessarily kharma, but these things that have such a small but positive impact have a way of coming back to you at the time that you really need it.

Just as you can accept the positive things in your life, be willing to accept the negative and roll with what life throws your way. When you realize that others may not be doing so well and lend a helping hand, you’re only setting yourself up for the same when you need the help. Becoming a positive force and doing a little something for the people in your world will not only be a kindness you have done for them, but can be very fulfilling as well because you have given of yourself for another. Give not expecting anything in return, but only help those who deserve it and will appreciate the kindness you have shown them.

Things may never be as good as we want them to be, but they are never as bad as they seem. Keep a little perspective in your life and realize that you can create a lot of little miracles in the lives of others every day if you choose to as well as appreciating the ones that are present in your life as well.

Earl Nightingale & The Strangest Secret

January 5, 2010 · Posted in Law Of Attraction, Mindsets, perseverance, success · Comment

A friend sent this to me the other day and I felt it warranted a spot here. Earl Nightingale’s “The Strangest Secret” is a powerful lesson in the law of attraction. Simply put, you will become that which you think about the most. As you are going through your daily routine, try to take an inventory of what you think about the most throughout the day. Are you thinking about the things you need to accomplish and taking action towards those outcomes every day?

One of the most important things I’ve learned (and continue to learn) about successful people is that the number one thing that separates them from the rest of the pack is their psychology. The ability to create an intention of an outcome, hold that intention steadfast in the mind, and take whatever steps are necessary to stay the path and reach the outcome no matter what is the strangest secret.

1. Define your intended for health, wealth, and/or relationships in your life.
2. Hold those intentions in your mind for an hour or more per day.
3. Start taking measurable, progressive steps to reach your goals.
4. Even if you get off track, never stop trying to attain your outcome!
