Change Your Mentality And Get Into That Millionaire Mindset
Positivity and mindset are vital to success in life, sports and more importantly in your entrepreneurial journey and having that millionaire mindset. Napoleon Hill was one of the first to point this out in a business environment in ‘Think and Grow Rich’. More extravagantly ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne sugar coats everything researched in the past. Basically the simple lesson from these books is that your mentality affects the way you perceive and interpret ideas and opportunities. The use of a car and its headlights in ‘The Secret’ is another way of re-enacting what successful entrepreneurs have known for over 100 years.
When I was 16 I was working in my family business. My parents were in the rat race getting up early and coming home late. I saw this as ‘good business’ as they were maximising their earning potential. When I was 18 and just started my bachelor of Entrepreneurship, I learned about more successful businesses that are systemized so that the business was still making money while the entrepreneur was not in the business. Today at 21 I am thinking a lot bigger with the ‘born global’ concept which I had no idea about 18 months ago.
As you can see over the years I have developed my millionaire mindset. I can show you the stages by using the example of a generic business idea. From what I learned from my parents I would have opened a local store and serviced my local area working 60 hours or more a week. When I was exposed to scalable businesses I would have used my networks and the internet to have a systemized business which I could market nationally. With my born global mentality today I would look to develop the business concept to be implemented in multi-national markets.
The funny thing about the processes above is nearly the same amount of time and effort go into each of the three. The only thing which is different is the entrepreneur at the beginning of the business’ journey with what is and is not possible.
In developing that millionaire mindset there are stepping stones. Entrepreneurs who try to take a huge leap need to remember they can go backwards just as quick. However by taking small but frequent steps you will have only minor adjustments that should not take you back to quick.
Serial Entrepreneurs know and respect this. They understand the market is changing and the best way to develop is through experience. So they keep starting, growing and exiting businesses and then repeat this process with a slightly larger idea until they are happy with where they are at.
My path was a little different. When I was a teen I was reading a lot of business books which set my framework up. When I was 18 and just starting my higher education I also founded another business with my brother. The combination of the two meant my printing business quickly evolved from a local business to a truly national business in three years and hiring employees which my parents were afraid to do.
With your millionaire mindset just remember the only limitation is the ideas that your mind blocks. The best way to expand on your mentality is to experience as you can best judge then what is and is not possible.
