All About Russian Brides And Family Values.

July 8, 2010 · Posted in Relationships · Comment

Over the last decade more and more men are looking out with their own country to find a partner for life. Russia appears to be a particularly popular place for men to look for a bride. But why? Could family values be the reason that so many men are choosing Russian brides.

The idea of a young woman staying at home and looking after her husband and kids has become slightly frowned upon by women in some areas of society. Not so for the majority of Russian women. For them staying at home and being a ‘house wife’ is a desirable position to be in, and certainly does not make them feel belittled or stupid.

For a start Russian women tend to be very well educated and intelligent. Their country has a reputation as being a country of books. This is true partly because books are very cheap and other modes of entertainment such as cable television and cinema are expensive. Also the education system is good and affordable. But, as a woman, this is not the achievement that will give you the most respect.

The highest measure of respect for women in Russian society is given to married women with children. Many women aspire to be in this position, not because they are stupid or unable to work, but because they choose it. Women who are unmarried by the time they are 25 are viewed as deficient in some way.

No one in Russian society is under the illusion that providing a warm and loving home is an easy job. Many of the amenities that are taken for granted by western families such as microwaves are just not readily available. It is a good thing, therefore, that Russian women are not adverse to hard work. Russian marriages are about a division of labour. It is a woman’s job to look after the home and a mans job to finance it.

One of the main factors in any Russian family is dependence. The Russian family is a very strong unit and it is normal for a woman to rely on her husband for financial security. This theme may have something to do with the living arrangements for many families. It is not uncommon for a large family of 3 generations to live in only a few rooms. This fact promotes cooperation, reliance and dependence as these are essential qualities when a family is living in such close proximity.

As history tells us, the life of the Russian people has, at times, been a struggle. Women have therefore developed skills at being resourceful and managing to complete any task, even if she has to go in a round about way to do it. This tenacity and resourcefulness means that a woman often gets her own way without her husband even being aware of it! In most cases a woman is quite happy to let her husband take the credit as she is more interested in getting something done rather than caring about who did it.

Many men are turning to Russia to find their ideal brides and their apparent family beliefs and their values that a husband, as well as herself, should be treated with the utmost respect gives us a clue to just why this is.

What Should Traditional Russian Brides Know?

June 17, 2010 · Posted in Relationships · Comment

Traditional Russian weddings are much different from what we are used to in the United States. Rehearsals, flower girls, and wedding planners aren’t required for this special kind of ceremony. Even so, if you’re planning to be one of the traditional Russian brides you’re sure to have a magical day. Here are few things you should expect.

In a Russian wedding the titles of best man and maid of honor are changed slightly. Instead these people are called witnesses, or “svideteli”. The celebration of a marital joining frequently lasts for at least two days but can go on for longer.

Something that remains much the same with Russian and American weddings is planning time. A traditional Russian marriage can take as little as one month to plan or it can take as many as six. The registration site in Russia is called a “Zag” while here we usually get our licenses in courthouses.

As a symbol for hopeful longevity, health, and prosperity the new couple is given gifts of bread and salt. These are more than just food. They are the one of the ways for the older generation to bless the new couple.

This bread is even more important to the couple itself. Besides the blessings of their parents the bread is also a symbol of power and sharing. They each take a bite of this bread and whoever has taken the biggest bite is assumed to be the head of the family. This is a visual prop to allow them to see the give and take of marriage.

Much like within the United States traditional Russian weddings have toasts. A toast is when a close friend or family member of either the bride or groom stands up before everyone and shares a word or two of blessing an encouragement. Everyone drinks afterwards.

In Russian tradition once a toast is made the glasses are thrown on the floor. If the glasses break when they hit the ground it is believed to be good luck. However, if the shards draw blood this may be considered a bad omen, so, just like in marriage you have to know when to put force, how much, and you have to take careful aim before you toss anything!

Bride stealing is an ancient tradition in many customs. It teaches a certain lesson about due diligence and watching out for what is most important. In Russian tradition they call is Kasha Novelty and it is exactly what it sounds like!

The groom will have to keep a sharp eye out during his wedding celebrations. Friends and family members will more than likely try to set up lavish plans in order to steal his bride. If she’s stolen he will have to pay a ransom to get her back.

There are a great many things you have to remember if you are planning to join the growing group of Russian brides. Above all the rest, though, you have to keep in mind that you are about to get married. This should be one of the happiest days of your life no matter how you celebrate it. So get out there and be happy.

Ways To Find Safe Russian Services For Dating And Marriage

June 6, 2010 · Posted in Relationships · Comment

It’s sad but true. There are a lot of scams on the internet. This is true wherever you look, but for some reason, Russian dating and matrimonial sites seem to have more than their fair share of scam artists. There are also many safe Russian services and it’s just too bad that their reputations suffer because of the unsafe sites. Here are some tips for sorting the safe ones from the bad ones.

First of all, how large is the site’s database? If there are thousands of subscribers, it’s a pretty good bet that the site is legitimate. The scammers either pay models or simply find photos on the internet and pose as women until the time comes to talk in person. Then they hire someone to play the part of the “woman” you have been corresponding with online. Outfits like this can’t fake it with a large database.

Use your common sense. If you are an older man and a breathtaking young woman says she is madly in love with you, you are probably her target, nothing more. This is particularly true if she shows you posed photographs of herself wearing a swimsuit or other provocative clothing. Don’t lose your grip on reality!

If either the site owners or your online sweetheart starts asking too many questions about your bank account or other sensitive information, be careful. No legitimate service needs to know all of that. You don’t have to provide proof about your age, your occupation or anything else. Neither do they, so don’t take anything they tell you at face value. Even legitimate sites have scammers lurking around.

One good way to check on a site’s reliability is to google the name of the site and see what you come up with. If people have been ripped off before, they will be angry about it and will advertise the fact. If there have been several complaints or warnings about a Russian dating site, you probably would be better off looking somewhere else.

Even if you have taken every precaution, you could still be the target of a scam artist. Here are some things you must be especially aware of:

If they start asking you to send them money for any reason, don’t do it. Even if they give you a heartrending story of poverty or misfortune, it is almost certainly a lie. It is a myth that all Russian women are living in extreme poverty.

They will profess to be in love with you. If they say you are the man of their dreams, you are probably only the man of their greed. This is doubly true if they tell you this after only one or two text chats online, but it can also come up later.

Finally, no matter how much you want to see them in person, don’t send them money for a visa or a plane ticket. If you want to meet her face to face, you go to her. If you send her money to come and see you, you have just wasted your money.

Setting Up Your Picture And Profile For A Russian Dating Site

March 2, 2010 · Posted in Relationships · Comment

If you want to know exactly why your picture and profile is so important if you wish to succeed when you are member of a russian datingsite, here it is: It’s the internet.

The internet isn’t the safest place in the world. The anonymity allows all the weirdos to come out and pass themselves off as someone who they’re not. This is true enough when it comes to domestic dating sites. If you want to get a date through a website that brings in Russian women, you really need to make sure that people can trust that you are who you say you are.

When you sign up for a dating site, be up front, be honest, and don’t lie. Put up a good photo and be completely honest in your profile. You may be worried that you’re not the best looking guy in the world, but don’t worry about that at all. It’s not about how you look, it’s about proving that you are who you say you are. Your photo should speak more of your personality and lifestyle than of your looks.

Anybody can lie about who they are, but if they can’t provide a photograph of themselves, or if their photo comes from a stock photo site, then it’s obvious that they’re lying. A liar can’t prove anything, but you can. Think of it more like your photo ID than like something to show off your chiseled jaw.

So select a photograph that shows off who you are, more so than how you look. You need the photograph to tell them who you are, what you’re into, what kind of a person you are. A lot comes through in a photograph, so don’t be afraid to show it off. Again, it’s not about your looks, at all. They’re not worried about whether you’ve got perfect cheekbones and an olive complexion, they just want to see who you are.

A shot of you from the neck up in a dark nondescript room, glowering at the camera, is exactly the opposite of what you need to be posting. A shot of you in your brand new car or at the company picnic is more like it.

When it comes to your profile, just be careful to put your best foot forward, but don’t lie. If you make something up, people will find out sooner or later. Obviously you want to talk about your recent promotion at work, not your toenail fungus, but don’t stretch the truth, don’t make anything up. Be honest.

Sell yourself, but be truthful. Say you’ve just been through a messy divorce, let them know up front that you might have an issue or two to work through before you’re ready to commit to a long term thing. If you have kids, let them know. Etc. Sell yourself, but be up front.
